On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the closing ceremony of the year-long celebration of Lachit Barphukan’s 400th birth anniversary.
He said, leaving behind the colonial mentality, the nation is filled with a sense of pride in our heritage.
“Today, India not only celebrates its cultural diversity but also proudly remembers the historical heroes of its culture.”
“The history of Assam is a matter of great pride in India’s journey. We believe in bringing together the diverse thoughts, beliefs and cultures of India. India has always valued its rich and cultural heritage; We have always protected our spiritual and cultural principles. This is what makes us a wonderful civilization,” the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister also earlier tweeted wishes on the 400th birth anniversary.
