The Northeast’s rail connectivity is expected to be altered by this 51.38-kilometer rail route. The railway project will increase regional economic growth and connectivity even more.

Mizoram train connectivity
PM Modi is anticipated to inaugurate three new express trains on Saturday while in Mizoram. Mizoram will be connected to Delhi, Assam, and West Bengal via these trains. A top railway official has confirmed the development in an interview with Indianexpress.com. Three trains, two from Bairabi and one from Sairang, will be marked off on September 13. A new Rajdhani Express would be launched from Sairang to connect Mizoram with the nation’s capital, while the Bairabi services will link Kolkata and Guwahati,” the source stated.

Rajdhani Express train from Sairang (Aizawl) to Anand Vihar
Sairang is only eighteen kilometers away from Aizawl. Therefore, better access to the nation’s capital would be made possible by a weekly Rajdhani Express train between Sairang and Anand Vihar.

Train Bairabi-Guwahati Express
The express train from Sairang to Guwahati will run every day. Additionally, it will stimulate tourism in the area.

Train Bairabi-Kolkata Express
There will be three weekly runs of the Sairang-Kolkata express train. It will give Mizoram and West Bengal crucial connection.

The railway project from Bairabi to Sairang
The Bairabi-Sairang railway line, which was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 8,071 crore, features 48 tunnels, 55 major bridges, 87 minor bridges, five road overbridges, and six road underbridges. Bridge No. 196 is the tallest of these, standing at 114 meters, 42 meters higher than the Qutub Minar.

The importance of the project for the Bairabi-Sairang train route
In addition to making interstate travel easier and more convenient for residents, the Bairabi-Sairang train route will facilitate both intrastate and cross-border mobility. In addition to making travel simpler, it would promote socioeconomic growth by enhancing the travel and other trade industries—not just in Mizoram but also in the other northeastern states.
