Mr Pranab Mukherjee our former president and Bharat Ratna passes away at the age of 84 due to lung infection in a hospital in Delhi . He had undergone brain surgery earlier this month and was in a state of septic shock as his condition worsened due to lung infection. His son Abhijit Mukherjee announced his demise.
He left back a legacy of firm political belief, a scholar par excellence and a towering statesman.
He was elected as the 13th President of India in 2012. Before that he served as a member of parliament for seven times .
Grieving Abhijeet Mukherjee tweeted :

Shri #PranabMukherjee has just passed away in spite of the
best efforts of Doctors of RR Hospital & prayers ,duas &
prarthanas from people throughout India !,”
