Queensland Braces for Impact as Cyclone Alfred Approaches

Southeastern Queensland is on high alert as Tropical Cyclone Alfred approaches, prompting authorities to urge residents to prepare their properties and establish evacuation plans. Premier David Crisafulli emphasized the importance of immediate action, including securing loose objects and trimming overhanging trees, to minimize potential damage. The cyclone is expected to make landfall during high tide, raising concerns about severe flooding and property damage. The Australian Defence Force has been deployed to assist in preparations, delivering an additional 250,000 sandbags to vulnerable areas.
