Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited the house of slain Punjabi singer Sidhu Muswala in Mansa district to offer condolences to his family.
He was accompanied by several Congress leaders including Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Waring, Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Pratap Singh Bajwa, former Deputy Chief Minister O P Soni and other party leaders.
Musewala was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Mansa on 29 May.
Musewala, who joined the Congress in December last year, unsuccessfully contested the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections from the Mansa seat.
Veteran Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa wrote to CM Mann, “urging the transfer of the murder case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or the National Investigation Agency (NIA) so that justice can be delivered to the family at the earliest”. .
