Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 2 pm on Monday amid widespread sloganeering and protests by the Congress and other opposition parties on various issues including price hike.
Opposition parties started protesting again when the House reconvened at 12 noon for a question-and-answer session after the adjournment of the morning session.
Some MPs from the opposition benches also came to the floor of the House and raised slogans. At 12:40 PM again the proceedings were adjourned till 2:00 PM.
Before adjourning the proceedings, Kalita told the protesting members that the Leader of Opposition (Mallikarjun Kharge) had demanded a discussion on the price hike.
He also said that the Leader of the House (Piyush Goyal)has informed that a discussion will be held tomorrow.
