Ratan Lal Nath promises reliable electricity during Durga Puja

Tripura’s Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath has assured residents of uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the state during the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations. His statement came on October 7 following an inspection at the State Load Dispatch Centre in Agartala.

“This center is crucial, as it manages power distribution for the entire state and even to Bangladesh. It’s one of the most sensitive areas within the power department, allowing us to monitor power loads across different regions,” Minister Nath explained.

During his visit, he revealed that the highest power load recorded that day was 309 megawatts, which included 56 megawatts supplied to Bangladesh. Reflecting on previous years, he noted, “Last year, the state’s demand during Ashtami Puja peaked at 311 MW. This year, we aim for a load of 390 MW. We are taking every precaution to ensure a seamless power supply during Durga Puja.”

Emphasizing the department’s commitment, Nath stated, “The Power Department, in collaboration with the Tripura State Electricity Corporation (TSECL), has been diligently working to ensure that there are no disruptions. Our power workers are dedicated, working day and night to meet the demand.”
