Weight Watchers and fitness enthusiasts have made salads their go-to lunch. Packed with fresh fruits and leafy vegetables and low in calories, these healthy lunch options are nutrient-dense. However, if you feel bloated after eating a salad, there’s probably a problem! When you consume fresh salads, the cell walls remain intact. We take longer to process them. Are you rushing through your salads? Salivary amylase is the enzyme that initiates the breakdown of carbohydrates in the mouth. Bloating may result from improper chewing technique.

While grains such as amaranth, brown rice, or quinoa make terrific salad bases, use whole grains. Include leafy greens. incorporate a range of leafy greens, such as arugula, spinach, kale, and lettuce. If you prefer not to eat them raw, you can sauté them. Combine a few cruciferous veggies. Along with fiber, cabbage, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts contribute sulfur-containing chemicals to boost your detox pathways. Sprinkle seeds or nuts. Fiber-rich foods include walnuts, flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds. They give the salad a crisp texture and good fats.
