Renault has recently refreshed its Kiger SUV and Triber MPV in India, leaving only the Kwid hatchback—its most affordable offering—awaiting an update. The French automaker is reportedly working on a facelifted version of the Kwid, which competes with models like the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and S-Presso. While Renault hasn’t officially announced details, the launch could happen soon, possibly ahead of the festive season, following the recent updates of the Triber on July 23 and the Kiger on August 24.
Once a major contributor to Renault’s presence in India, the Kwid has seen demand dip as consumer interest shifted toward utility vehicles. However, with a potential GST cut on small cars expected around the festive period, Renault sees an opportunity to reignite interest in the segment through the Kwid facelift.
The updated Kwid is likely to feature a refreshed exterior with a redesigned front fascia, new LED lights, revised bumpers, and fresh alloy wheel designs. New colour options may also be introduced. Inside, expect an updated dashboard layout, improved upholstery, added features, and enhanced safety equipment. The engine and transmission options, however, are expected to remain unchanged.
