Repolling in the panchayat elections was successfully conducted across four districts in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday, with no incidents of unrest reported. The repolling period lasted from 7 AM until 1 PM, and Arunachal Pradesh State Election Commissioner Rinchin Tashi confirmed that the process occurred peacefully. Voter participation varied across polling stations: in Bichom district’s Government Upper Primary School (GUPS) Nedo, 231 out of 340 registered electors cast votes, resulting in a turnout of 67.94%. In the Rotom Zilla Parishad constituency of Kamle district, 171 of 222 voters participated, leading to a turnout of 77.03%. The GUPS Nongkhon in Namsai district saw 50 out of 58 voters, achieving an impressive turnout of 86.21%. Similarly, in the Laho Gram Panchayat segment of Tirap district, 258 out of 308 electors exercised their voting rights, contributing to an 83.77% turnout. The repolling took place at seven specific polling stations, including GUPS Nedo in Bichom and GUPS Nongkhon in Namsai, among others, necessitated by reports of irregularities in the initial voting process as declared by the State Election Commission (SEC).
