RGICL secures contract for Megha Health Insurance Scheme implementation in Meghalaya

India’s Reliance General Insurance Co. Ltd. has been awarded the contract to implement the Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) and Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY)-Phase 6 in Meghalaya by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Meghalaya.

RGICL secured the contract through competitive bidding. The GoM has reviewed MHIS 6’s Health Benefits Package and implemented a revised scheme in convergence with PMJAY, offering ₹ 5,30,000 insurance cover for eligible beneficiaries on a family floater basis. Over 7 lakh families in Meghalaya will receive comprehensive health insurance, covering hospitalization, outpatient care, diagnostic tests, and follow-up care. RGICL is committed to providing quality healthcare services to the people of Meghalaya through its network of empaneled hospitals and healthcare providers across the state.

RGICL plans to use digital capabilities for seamless enrollment, claim settlement, and grievance redressal for beneficiaries.
