Robbery in the city again, the robbers tied up the mother and son

The robbery took place in the state capital, Guwahati. The robbers beat up the mother and son and looted Rs 60,000 in cash and gold jewelry worth Rs 4 lakh. The incident took place at Anand Nagar 1 under Nunmati police station in Guwahati city. A widow, a resident of Anand Nagar 1 in Nunmati, went to bed with her 15-year-old son after eating rice and water on Friday night. The robbers entered the house around 2:30 p.m. after breaking the rods on the kitchen windows.

The robbers entered the bedroom and tied the woman’s and her son’s hands and feet. While in a deep sleep, the mother and son initially did not realise what was happening to them. The robbers later put a sharp weapon around the necks of the mother and son and threatened them not to shout. The robbers then threatened the mother to give her cash and keys to the godrej. The robbers opened the garage and looted Rs 60,000 in cash and gold jewelry worth Rs 4 lakh.

The victim’s mother sold a katha and five lechas of land near her house for Rs 80 lakh a few days ago. The victim’s family suspects that a group of six robbers came to rob the house of Rs 80 lakh. The victims were identified as 20-year-old Arun Kumar and 18-year-old Arun Kumar. The woman lodged a complaint with the Nunmati police station. Police have registered a case at the police station on the basis of the complaint but have yet to trace the robbers. The police recovered a pair of sandals, an iron chabol, and a broken lock from the robbers.
