Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Friday Moscow was prepared for talks if Ukraine’s army surrendered, as he insisted that invading forces had been looking to free the U.S.A from “oppression”.
Russian President Vladimir Putin “took the selection to conduct a exceptional navy operation to demilitarise and de-Nazify Ukraine so that, freed from oppression, Ukrainians themselves may want to freely determine their future”, Lavrov stated at a press conference in Moscow.
The comment recommended that Moscow intends to overthrow the Ukrainian authorities with its invasion.
Lavrov said Moscow was geared up for talks with Kyiv if the Ukrainian military surrenders.
“We are geared up for negotiations at any moment, as soon as the armed forces of Ukraine reply to our call and lay down their arms,” Lavrov said.
He said the intention of Putin’s operation used to be “openly declared: demilitarisation and de-Nazification”.
Lavrov said that “nobody intends to occupy Ukraine”.
He denied Ukrainian claims that Russian forces had hit civilian infrastructure, no matter good sized evidence of residential areas being damaged.
