Samim Akhtara Ali Brings Honour to Dibrugarh at Times Business Awards – North East

Samim Akhtara Ali, a resident of Dibrugarh, was honoured with the prestigious “Excellence in Social Impact Leadership” award at the Times Business Awards – North East 2026, held on April 30 at Hotel Vivanta, Guwahati. This recognition was conferred in appreciation of her long-standing contributions to social service, women’s empowerment, and her unwavering support for underprivileged communities across Northeast India. Through her humanitarian initiatives, she has consistently stood beside the poor, visually impaired individuals, and flood-affected families, creating a meaningful and positive impact on society.

Samim Akhtara Ali is the second daughter of late Rahmat Ali, a senior journalist from Naliapool, Dibrugarh, and editor of Aloron newspaper. For her impactful social work, she has previously been honoured with the Femina GameChanger North East Award. She has also received several recognitions at both state and national levels, establishing a distinct identity in the field of social service. One of the key highlights of the event was the presence of renowned Bollywood actor Gulshan Grover. Receiving the award from him, an emotional Samim Akhtara Ali said, “This honour is a matter of great pride for me and a truly memorable moment. Receiving this recognition from a distinguished personality like Gulshan Grover is incredibly special. I consider it my responsibility to stand by the marginalized and underprivileged sections of society.
