Samsung expands future-tech skilling drive; Yogi Adityanath felicitates 1,600 youth in Gorakhpur

In a major boost to India’s emerging digital talent pipeline, Samsung today felicitated 1,600 students in Gorakhpur under its flagship skilling initiative, Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented certificates at the Yogi Baba Gambhirnath Prekshagrih Auditorium, praising the programme’s role in strengthening job-ready talent and supporting the state’s digital economy vision.

Samsung announced that SIC will train 20,000 students across India in 2025 — a six-fold expansion from last year — across 10 states. Uttar Pradesh accounts for 5,000 students, nearly one-fourth of the national target. The initiative focuses on future-tech domains including Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Big Data and Coding & Programming, and has achieved 44% women participation nationwide.

JB Park, President & CEO, Samsung Southwest Asia, said the programme aligns with Skill India and Digital India missions and reflects India’s “hunger for learning and progress,” adding that these skills define “the language of opportunity today.”

In Kolkata, industry observers note rising demand for AI, IoT and data-analytics training as companies adopt digital-first strategies. Education and tech-skill providers expect Samsung’s expansion to reinforce talent development in eastern India, with students increasingly opting for industry-mapped programmes to enhance employability in both IT and manufacturing sectors.
