Samsung’s ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ ignites young innovators in Bihar and Jharkhand

Samsung’s flagship innovation contest, Solve for Tomorrow 2025, has reached the heartlands of Bihar and Jharkhand, proving that the spirit of invention thrives far beyond metro cities. The programme, now in its fourth season, hosted impactful design thinking open houses in Ranchi’s Gossner College, St. Xavier’s College, and Marwari College, drawing enthusiastic participation from students eager to address local challenges through technology.

In these sessions, students brainstormed solutions for sanitation, education, and agriculture, with some sketching out solar-powered attendance systems for rural schools and others tackling waste management. Participants from IIT Patna also joined virtually, demonstrating that geographic boundaries are no longer barriers to nation-building innovation.

In Patna and Ranchi, the excitement was palpable. Students like Suraj and Neha left the workshops inspired, armed with both ideas and the confidence to act. Prashant from IIT Patna expressed his ambition to build a platform for farmers to access real-time soil and crop data, reflecting the programme’s deep social impact. In Asansol, where small businesses and students often lack structured platforms for innovation, this initiative was closely watched. Local educators believe such programmes can inspire similar movements in Asansol’s colleges, encouraging students to address grassroots challenges with scalable tech-based solutions. With funding of Rs 1 crore for the top four teams, mentorship from IIT Delhi and Samsung leaders, and a national platform for visibility, Solve for Tomorrow is shaping up as more than a competition — it’s becoming a nationwide call to innovate for India.
