SBI Life Insurance, one of the most trusted private life insurers in the country, announced the inauguration of its new branch office in the city of Bishnupur, West Bengal. Theobjective behind this move is to increase physical footprints in the State by making comprehensive insurance solutions easily accessible to the residents at large.

SBI Life has 63 offices in West Bengal, with a productive individual agent network, corporate agents, bancassurance partners, brokers, and a private market share of 24.8%. The private market share is 27.2% across the country, and there has been a substantial increase in the number of insurance agents in the region. India’s insurance penetration has increased from 2.7% at the turn of the millennium to 4.2% in 2020, but is still low compared to other Asian countries.
