Schools for all children up to class 12 will remain closed on Sunday as per the district administration’s order. Due to heavy rains forecast warning by the Meteorological Department on Monday in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Several districts of Uttar Pradesh declared holidays in all schools today.
Traffic police warned motorists to be careful while driving, especially under flyovers, as many roads were flooded.
Authorities in a dozen districts, including Lucknow, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aligarh, Meerut and Ghaziabad, have ordered the closure of schools today in view of heavy rains. Officials said, in Aligarh, all schools up to Class 12 will remain closed till October 12.
District authorities in Noida, Agra, Kanpur, Ita, Mathura, Mainpuri and Firozabad have ordered the closure of schools. The state has already been experiencing incessant rains for the past few days.
