Section 144 enforced in Kota, Rajasthan for the movie ‘The Kashmir Files’

The authorities in Kota, Rajasthan have imposed Section 144 for the movie ‘The Kashmir Files’.

The District Collector & District Magistrate of Kota said that, “Section 144 will be imposed in Kota, Rajasthan from 22nd March to 21st April to maintaining the law & order during the screening of the movie ‘The Kashmir Files’.” As per the order, there should be no crowd gathering for watching the film.

The movie had released in theatres on 11th March. The movie stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar and many others. It has been declared as tax-free in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Tripura, Goa and Uttarakhand among many other states. The movie is about the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990. The movie is being directed by Vivek Agnihotri.

The ex-MLA from BJP of North Kota Prahlad Gunjal said that, “A huge ‘Chandi march’ will be taken out in the Kota North assembly constituency. Because of that the Section 144 was imposed by the authorities. ‘The Kashmir Files’ is just an excuse for that.”
