Seminar on Possible Impacts of Kaladan Project and Bairabi–Sairang Railway Line Held

A seminar addressing the social, cultural, and economic impacts of the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project (KMMTTP) Road and the Bairabi–Sairang Railway Line was held at Government Siaha College, featuring S. Lalremtuanga, Deputy Chief Executive Member, as chief guest. He emphasized the necessity of recognizing both the benefits and potential adverse effects of development, particularly regarding the impact on Lai and Mara districts. Lalremtuanga stressed coordinated efforts among various stakeholders and highlighted the importance of educating the youth to maximize positive outcomes. Additional presentations were made by Abraham Beirazi Khithie and Zomuana on the expected impacts and preparation needed for the project. The seminar was organized by the Committee to Study the Socio, Cultural and Economic Impact of the KMMTTP and attracted participation from local officials and NGOs.
