Veteran Congress leader HN Chandrasekhar, popularly known as Chief Minister Chandru, quit the party’s Karnataka unit citing personal reasons.
In his resignation letter to Congress state president DK Sivakumar on Saturday, Chandru said he had joined the “Congress with a vast historical background” to serve the people.
“I am satisfied that I have fulfilled my duty sincerely. I am resigning from primary membership. I express my gratitude to everyone in the team who supported and loved me,” he said.
Congress sources said that Chandru was aspirant for Rajya Sabha ticket and decided to give way after being denied.
