Shikshagraha taps AWS cloud to transform public education in India

Shikshagraha, a national movement aimed at transforming one million public schools by 2030, has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to drive its mission using cloud technology. Shikshagraha seeks to enhance education quality across India by fostering collaboration among government bodies, civil society organizations, and local communities. It aims to impact 40 million children across 100 districts through a micro-improvement approach.

The initiative, active in states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Tamil Nadu, uses AWS for scalable and secure cloud infrastructure to support school improvement programs. AWS tools will help streamline the process by hosting a repository of best practices, utilizing real-time data analysis, and ensuring efficient collaboration across districts.

In Itanagar, local stakeholders anticipate a significant shift in how schools operate. By leveraging AWS’s cloud-based solutions, schools in the region are expected to benefit from tailored, actionable improvements that focus on enhancing teacher effectiveness and student learning outcomes. This aligns with Shikshagraha’s goal of decentralizing education reform.“We are relying on AWS to empower large-scale change,” said Vijayashree Urs, CTO of ShikshaLokam. AWS India’s Pankaj Gupta emphasized that cloud computing will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing India’s public education system.
