GUWAHATI: Days after Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide, a case has been filed against 8 people including Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Salman Khan and Ekta Kapoor in Muzaffarpur, Bihar on June 17.
As quoted by ANI, Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha said, “I have filed a case against 8 people including Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Salman Khan & Ekta Kapoor under Sections 306, 109, 504 & 506 of IPC in connection with actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case in a court in Muzaffarpur.”
Earlier, politician Sanjay Nirupam had revealed in a tweet that despite Chhichhore’s success, actor Sushant Singh Rajput had lost seven films in the span of six months which perhaps led the actor to take the extreme step of committing suicide.
Meanwhile, Mumbai police has recorded the statement of the actor’s father, sisters, Ankita Lokhande and his best friend Mahesh Shetty.
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, in an interview with Times of India, termed the news of Sushant’s death ‘just awful’, but hit out at those ‘talking rubbish’ in the wake of the tragedy.
“There are so many people who’ve made comments so quickly. And it just seems to me that people are somewhere gaining some mileage from this poor fellow’s tragedy, you know, whether it’s to show compassion or to show interest or to show some political stance. So many people are talking rubbish in this nonstop kind of barrage on social media and it’s just embarrassing, really, I think,” he said.
“Out of respect for him, for Sushant’s tragedy, maybe a day of silence or introspection would be a little more becoming than this outpouring of love – an outpouring of love from people who obviously didn’t care about him and people who famously don’t care about anybody else,” he said.
Khan further added that Bollywood was “famously competitive”, and those pretending to care for Rajput was a sign of “ultimate hypocrisy” and an “insult” to the dead.
In another twist to the tale, Abhinav Singh Kashyap, director of Dabangg and Besharam, in a lengthy statement on social media, blamed Salman Khan, his brothers Sohail and Arbaaz and their father Salim Khan for sabotaging his career in the Hindi film industry.
In the statement, he also made it clear why he did not return to direct the Dabangg sequel.
“I have experienced exploitation and bullying first hand. The reason why I moved out of making Dabangg 2 ten years ago was because Arbaaz Khan in collusion with Sohail Khan and family was trying to take control of my career by bullying me. Arbaaz Khan sabotaged my second project with Shree Ashtavinayak Films that I was signed up with by personally calling their head, Raj Mehta, and threatening him with dire consequences if they made a film with me. I had to return the signing money to Shree Ashtavinayak Films and moved to Viacom Pictures. They did the same thing. Only this time the sabotager was Sohail Khan and he intimidated the then Viacom CEO Vikram Malhotra,” wrote Abhinav.
Reacting to this Salim Khan said, “Yes, we are the ones to ruin everything, right? You watch his films first and then we’ll talk. He used my name in his statement right? Maybe he didn’t know my father’s name. His name was Rashid Khan. Let him use my grandfather and great grandfather’s names too. Let him do what he wants, but we will not waste time in reacting to what he says.
