Shyam Steel Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Integrated Steel Plant in Purulia

Shyam Steel has inaugurated its fourth Integrated Steel Plant at JSK-II in Purulia, West Bengal. The plant, which has a capital investment of ₹1,500 crore, is a testament to Shyam Steel’s commitment to innovation, job creation, and sustainable growth. With a steel-making capacity of 1.19 million tonnes per annum, the plant is equipped with cutting-edge technology.

 The plant is part of Shyam Steel’s journey of excellence, which includes four other integrated steel plants in Durgapur, Mejia, Bamunara, and Howrah. The plant is also creating over 5,000 direct employment positions for skilled and unskilled workers in Purulia. Director Mr. Lalit Beriwala expressed enthusiasm for the occasion, stating that the plant not only contributes to India’s industrial progress but also creates over 5,000 direct employment positions for skilled and unskilled workers in various departments.

The move is aimed at growth, further underscored by Shyam Steel’s ambitious vision to double its turnover from Rs. 4500 crores to Rs. 9000 crores over the next two years. The plant is committed to contributing to the realization of the target of 300 million tonnes of steel production by 2030-31, aligning with the National Steel Policy and the broader vision of transforming India into a self-reliant $5-trillion economy.
