Lok Sabha party member election for 2024 has began, 47 aspirants from Assam has filed their application for Congress tickets. Although, northeastern states has 14 Lok Sabha seats. 1281 Madrasas in Assam under Assam govt converted to regular schools

The Assam government has decided to convert madrassas into Middle English (ME) schools which were functioning under the funds of the government. According to the sources, 1,281 madrassas which were located in Lower Assam Region and Barak Valley were converted into general schools of 21 districts of the region, Assam. The Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma through X post said, Taking a step towards converting all government and provincialised Madrassas into regular schools, @SchoolEdnAssam has changed the names of 1,281 ME Madrasa into ME English.”

 A mild blast was reported at an Army Camp of Lichubari in Assam’s Jorhat district and United Liberation Front of Asom (I) has claimed its responsibility for the blast, on Thursday.
