Assam Govt. suspends officers with immediate effect

APSC Cash- for-job, 21 state civil, police and allied service officers has been suspended by Assam Government for illegally obtaining the reputed job of the state. According to the sources, out of the 21 officers, 11 are from the Assam Police Service (APS), four from the Assam Civil Services (ASC), three assistant employment officers, two assistant registrars of cooperative societies and one excise inspector are suspended with immediate effect as investigation for case is not yet concluded. Assam finds high grip in HIV-Positive cases

Assam finds grappling surge of HIV-positive cases in the state, rapidly over past three years specially among injecting drugs users. As per reports, from April to June 2023, a staggering 50.8% of the 1,317 cases detected linked to Injecting Drug Users (IDUs), exceeding the national average of 9.03% by a concerning 2.21 %. Detailing on Northeast regions, Mizoram has the highest adult HIV prevalence with 2.70%, followed by 1.36 % in Nagaland, 1.05% in Manipur, 0.39% in Meghalaya and 0.11% in Assam. Under Pragyan Bharati Scheme, Assam CM distributes scooters

Assam students who appeared for Higher Secondary Examination, 2023 and scored above 60% and 75% respectively have been rewarded scooters by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Veterinary College field in Khanapara, Guwahati on Thursday. According to the sources, the initiative took place under Pragyan Bharati Scheme, with 35,770 students being recipients of scooters under the scheme in 2023. The initiative is taken to empower youths through education. Assam launches PM Shri School Scheme for development of schools

Assam gets another 9 Guinness World certificate

The Assam government received nine Guinness World Records certificates for a mega plantation drive in September-October. As per sources, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma received the certificates from Guinness World Records Adjudicator Swapnil Dangarikar for the state’s ‘Amrit Brikshya Andolan’. Sarma said, “Amrit Brikshya Andolan has been successful only because of Jan Bhagidari.
