Illegal weapons seized in Manipur

An operation was carried out in Manipur by Assam Rifles in collaboration with local police of the state to detect weapon smuggling since the violence hit on Monday. According to the sources, the operation was carried out in the Loiching range of Kangpokpi, Manipur in which the authorities have successfully caught a cache of illegal weapons and war-related supplies. The illegal weapons that were smuggled into that state included an AK-56 rifle with two magazines, a single-shot barrel rifle, a Chinese grenade, a mortar round, 100 rounds of AK-56 ammunition, and seven fired cases from a single-shot barrel rifle.

284 students affected by violence in Manipur

Assam CM announces on reservation of seats in engineering college

Assam Government has decided about reserving 5% seats in engineering colleges for the students who have pursued schooling from government schools in the state, Assam. According to the sources, the decision is taken to promote more enrollments in the state run schools especially for those students who have studied in government from class 7 to 12. Assam Govt. suspends officers with immediate effect

APSC Cash- for-job, 21 state civil, police and allied service officers has been suspended by Assam Government for illegally obtaining the reputed job of the state. Assam finds grappling surge of HIV-positive cases in the state, rapidly over past three years specially among injecting drugs users. As per reports, from April to June 2023, a staggering 50.8% of the 1,317 cases detected linked to Injecting Drug Users (IDUs), exceeding the national average of 9.03% by a concerning 2.21 %. Assam students who appeared for Higher Secondary Examination, 2023 and scored above 60% and 75% respectively have been rewarded scooters by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Veterinary College field in Khanapara, Guwahati on Thursday. According to the sources, the initiative took place under Pragyan Bharati Scheme, with 35,770 students being recipients of scooters under the scheme in 2023.
