Myanmar military takeover causes thousands of refugees to migrate to India

Approximately 4,000 to 6,000 refugees from Myanmar seek safety in India, a spokesperson for the UN chief has said, as the world body voiced concern over the rising levels of displacement of people since the military coup in the country in February. The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) said that in Myanmar, as of last week, approximately 60,700 women, children and men have been internally displaced. 140% increase in the Fertiliser Subsidy For Farmers

To offset the price rise in international market, the Centre will offer 140% increase in subsidy on fertilisers, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's office. The government will spend an additional ₹ 14,775 crore towards this subsidy. The PM's office said in a statement, "Prime Minster Narendra Modi said farmers should get fertilisers at old rates despite the international price rise. The welfare of farmers is at the core of government's efforts." Farmers will get a subsidy of ₹ 1,200 per bag of fertiliser instead of the current ₹ 500.
