Building collapse in Ludhiana with 1 dead and 2 in critical condition, search ops on for 4 workers

At least one person was killed after a building housing an old factory collapsed in Mukund Nagar on Daba road of Ludhiana Monday. The lintel of the building gave in at around 10.30 am. Personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the police rescued at least 36 people, and are searching for four workers who are feared to be trapped under the debris. Five jawans and at least two Naxals have died in an ongoing encounter between security forces and Naxals in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.
