125-feet long statue of Lachit Barphukan, Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives here, Assam on Saturday and unveils statue of 16th century Ahom general Lachit Borphukan in Jorhat district. The PM was accompanied by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma both in Ahom attire. According to the sources, the statue is measured 125-feet long at the Lachit Barphukan Maidam Development Project in Hollongapar, which is close to Teok area in the district. Additionally, back in February 2022, former President Ram Nath Kovind had laid the statue’s foundation.

Sudden death due to a mysterious disease in Assam

A mysterious incident has unfolded which triggered people of the state. The incident unfolded in Assam's Goalpara district killing 14 people. According to the sources, a disease unfolded within the villages of the district killing 14 people, in which 60 people were affected. Six of them are affected and are under treatment.
