Goa: IMD Forecasts Heavy Rains , High Speed Winds.

As Goa prepares for arrival of the south-west monsoon, the IMD has forecast heavy rainfall along with high speed winds in isolated places in North and South Goa districts. The coastal state experienced pre-monsoon showers earlier this week. As a precaution, the Goa government shuts down beaches, popular with tourists, for swimming and water sports during the monsoon (from June to September) each year as the sea during this period tends to be extremely rough and choppy. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter Veena T will marry CPI(M) leader P A Muhammed Riyas. Veena is the managing director of Exalogic Solutions Pvt Ltd, a start-up firm in Bengaluru. Riyas, who hails from Kozhikode, is the all-India president of DYFI, the youth wing of the CPI(M). Thu, 11 Jun 2020 : Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj district has become the latest victim to the attack of locust swarms on the fields blossomed with vegetation and the residential areas as well which began on Tuesday night and continued through Wednesday. However, no major loss of crop has been reported. According to local media reports, villages, such as Dharwara, Madeni Singh ka Pura, Tala, Hathsara and Lohandi have been affected by the locust swarms in Prayagraj districts. Geneva: The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has released its financial outlook for the global air transport industry showing that “airlines are expected to lose $84.3 billion in 2020 for a net profit margin of -20.1 per cent”. 125 students out of 183 students studying in Delhi University’s MA english said they were not comfortable with online examination. Out of the 183 only 89 of them had access to computers, which will be essential to appear for the exam.
