A two-day meeting of senior Army commanders, presided by Army Chief General MM Naravane, is underway at Ministry of Defence offices in Delhi. The Army Commanders' Conference will discuss issues pertaining to the security of India's borders, including recent Chinese aggression in Ladakh.The conference comes a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting to discuss the stand-off with China. The event was given a miss as the relations between the two countries are strained at present, they added. A Delhi court has allowed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to interrogate alleged middleman Christian Michel at the Tihar central jail, where he is lodged in connection with the AgustaWestland VVIP chopper scam case.Special Judge Pulastya Pramachala on Saturday allowed the ED to interrogate Michel on May 25 and 26 in the jail premises.The court allowed the ED's plea moved by the agency's special public prosecutor NK Matta after he submitted during a hearing held through video conferencing that the accused was required to be confronted with certain documents during its ongoing probe in the case.

The Uttar Pradesh government said penalty rules have been modified under COVID-19 second amendment guidelines 2020 in the state amid the ongoing nation-wide lockdown to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.People found outside without wearing masks or without covering their faces, and/or spitting in public, will now be charged upto Rs 500 fine under IPC section 15 (3).Violators of the lockdown will be charged between Rs 100 and Rs 1,000 under section 15 (4), the order said.
