Sunil Bharti Mittal, founder and chairman of Bharti Airtel, on Thursday said that adjusted gross revenue (AGR) issue is an unprecedented crisis for the telecom industry. Mr Mittal's comments came after he met telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad to give an overall view of the industry."Committed to complying with the Supreme Court order on adjusted gross revenue (AGR), and Bharti Airtel will make the balance payment expeditiously," Mr Mittal told reporters.Mr Mittal also said that the telecom industry is heavily taxed and suggested cut in taxes and levies for the sector.

French airports operator ADP, which operates Paris airports Roissy and Orly, has bought a 49 per cent stake in GMR Airports for 1.34 billion euros ($1.45 billion), ADP said on Thursday. GMR Airports has a portfolio of seven airports in three countries: India, the Philippines and Greece. ADP said the Delhi and Hyderabad airports in India and the Mactan-Cebu airport in the Philippines together handled a total of 102 million passengers in 2019.The four other airports, which had 22 million passengers in 2019, are either under development (Goa and Heraklion) or were recently won by GMR after a bidding process…

 Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of four National Public Sector Enterprises under Ministry of Power, Government of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), an Indian state-owned telecommunications company for the installation of public charging stations to boost e-mobility adoption across India. Under the partnership, EESL will set up public charging stations in 1000 BSNL sites in a phased manner on a pan India basis. EESL will make the entire upfront investment on the services pertaining to the MoU, along with the operation and maintenance of the charging infrastructure by using qualified personnel.…
