Govt officials caught red handed accepting bribes

Five government officials and a driver were arrested by Assam directorate of vigilance and anti-corruption on Thursday and Friday. According to the sources, the accused were caught red handed while allegedly accepting bribes. The arrest was done in different parts of the state Kamrup, Nagaon and Goalpara districts. On Friday, Supreme Court extended Protection till March 13 to independent Assam MLA Akhil Gogoi from NIA arrest. The MLA was arrested for connection with a case related to Anti-CAA protests. On February 25, a robbery was foiled near No. 1 Dhansirikhuti Daifang village under Rowta police station of Udalguri.  A man was encountered during the movement.
