Meghalaya-Assam border disrupt again

In a dispute between Assam-Meghalaya six people were killed, on Tuesday. Among those killed were a forest guard and other residents of Meghalaya. For enquiry purpose, Assam Police calleda retired High Court judge. Meanwhile, apprehending law, Meghalaya suspended mobile internet services in seven districts for 48 hours from 10.30 am on Tuesday. Rs 50 crore drugs seized in Karbi

Three people were arrested along with 1.80 lakh tablets used for drugs in the Lakhipur area of Cachar on Sunday. The market value of seized drugs is 50 crore. Assam Police conducted two raids. Another raid was conducted at Karbi Anglong. Five accused of involvement in drug trade. Assam Police recovered drugs worth crores of rupees from Cachar and Karbi Anglong districts. Assam Police arrested Bangladeshi national

Assam Police and Border Security Force (BSF) arrested one Bangladeshi national while operating a project. According to sources, the incident took place in South Salmara Mankachar district of Assam. BSF and South Salmara Mankachar District Police forces conducted a joint operation in Kukurmara area of the neighboring district. Two Madrasa teachers held for torturing teachers

The district police arrested two teachers from Cachar district of Sonai area for torturing a boy and imparting lessons on Jihad. According to sources, an FIR has been lodged against two persons for the Independent Bazar Islamia Madrasa Ithitim Khana. The men have been accused of wrongful detention, physical and mental torture and indoctrinating students in madrassas with jihadi ideology. Barak valley 12-hours bandh

12-hours Barak valley bandh called by Barak Democratic Front (BDF). According to reports, the bandh was called to protest against the deprivation of the unemployed youth of the valley in the recruitment process for class III and IV posts. ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, The Assam Congress reaches Guwahati on Thrusday. The march is also joined by Raijor dal which is the opposition party. Reports said, more than 500 people joined the march. Assam Left-wing extremists surrender

Thirteen Left-wing extremists have surrendered in Dibrugarh and Cachar districts of Assam. The news came to light, when Special Director General of Police said through a tweet. He tweeted, “13 cadres of proscribed CPI-M joined mainstream today - leaving the path of violence behind - at Dibrugarh and Cachar. They are associates of CPI-M leader Aru Kumar Bhattacharjee @ Kanchan da who was arrested earlier this year by @assampolice.”According to the sources, veteran CPI (Maoist) leader Arun Kumar Bhattacharjee was arrested ealier this year.

G20 Presidency handed to India
