Matigara police have arrested three additional suspects in connection with the theft of advertisement banners and hoardings from traffic signal posts due to drug addiction. The arrested persons have been identified as MD Karim, Appu Siddiqui and Awadh Kishore, who owns a scrap shop.According to reports, a gang of criminals stole hoardings and banners put up in front of a mall in Matigara to support their drug habits. According to reports, the incident occurred after a truck loaded with onions suddenly stopped. Meanwhile, the ice cream truck driving behind could not pull the brakes in time. As a result, the vehicle lost control and collided with the rear of the onion truck. The front part of the ice cream truck was significantly damaged. At the time of the accident the ice cream truck was going from Lucknow towards Siliguri. However, soon after the collision, the truck loaded with onions fled from the spot. luckily, there were no sufferers in the incident.

After this incident, accused thief Arpan Darji was arrested. According to reports, Kalimpong police station had received a complaint of theft of a civic volunteer's scooter.
