Skill India celebrates the launch of the New Parliament Building, built by its own people

Skill India celebrates the remarkable achievement of training 910 skilled carpenters who played a crucial role in the construction of the new state of the artparliament building, inaugurated by our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi on May 28th, 2023.

 The successful construction of the parliament building is a testament to India’s people, who have received transformative training through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) programme under PMKVY, which has been recognized and enhanced by the Skill India Mission.The Furniture and Fitting Skill Council (FFSC) of MSDE, NDMC, and NARSI Group conducted a comprehensive training for the carpenter community, honed their skills, and uplifted their livelihood.

This success story of creating world-class infrastructure for the new parliament exemplifies the impact of RPL training and serves as an inspiration for future endeavours. Dr. Krishna Kumar Dwivedi, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) said, “This achievement is not only about creating an avant-garde design for our new parliament but has also enabled many individuals who can proudly say that they have become a part of the nation’s progress and its new identity”.
