In celebration of the 10th International Yoga Day, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with its partners, organized a high-energy yoga camp at Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi, starting at 6:00 AM. The event, themed “Yoga for Self and Society,” highlighted the profound impact of yoga on individual health and societal well-being.
Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, announced a significant achievement on this occasion. The Skill India Mission has successfully trained and certified more than 1.35 lakh yoga trainers nationwide, underscoring the government’s commitment to promoting wellness and professional excellence in the health sector.Leading the states in certifications are Uttar Pradesh with 31,018 trainers, followed closely by Tamil Nadu at 30,952 and Maharashtra with 26,743. These numbers reflect a robust demand for skilled professionals in the health and wellness industry across various regions.
Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, highlighted the strategic importance of yoga in promoting a healthy lifestyle and societal cohesion. He emphasized the growing popularity of MSDE’s comprehensive courses, which encompass yoga and fitness training, catering to the increasing demand for certified professionals.
