slice small finance bank (slice SFB), headquartered in Assam, is strengthening its footprint in the Northeast with the launch of its Serchhip branch and the upcoming opening of a second branch in Bawngkawn, Mizoram. The move is part of the bank’s broader mission to drive financial inclusion in underserved regions while generating over 400 new jobs in the Northeast in the past year alone.
slice SFB’s latest expansion in Mizoram brings a digital-first banking experience tailored for rural households, women-led enterprises, and first-time digital users. “Our mission to deliver banking to the traditionally underbanked revolves around the Northeast—a region with immense potential,” said Satish Kumar Kalra, MD & CEO of slice SFB.
In Aizawl, entrepreneurs and small business owners have welcomed the bank’s simplified lending model and tailored credit options. Financial analysts in the city note that the bank’s focus on local hiring and tech-enabled banking could spur competition and boost financial literacy in semi-urban and rural belts of Mizoram. With a 20.7% growth in deposits in Assam and innovations like voice box technology for small businesses, slice SFB continues to champion smart, accessible, and inclusive banking across the region.
