Smriti Mandhana has strengthened her place among the world’s leading T20I batters after her remarkable century against Hong Kong in the Women’s Asia Cup. The India opener’s 124 off 64 balls helped India register a comprehensive 137-run win and book their place in the semi-finals.
Mandhana’s knock also saw her create a major milestone in women’s international cricket. With the innings, she took her overall international tally to 10,880 runs across formats, surpassing Mithali Raj’s previous record of 10,868 runs to become the leading run-scorer in women’s international cricket.
The century was Mandhana’s 18th at the international level, putting her alone at the top of the women’s international centuries chart. Her latest performance has helped her strengthen her position at fifth in the ICC Women’s T20I batting rankings.
Deepti Sharma has also moved up the latest T20I rankings following her all-round contributions. The India all-rounder has climbed two places to sixth among the top bowlers, while she continues to hold fifth position in the all-rounders’ rankings.
UAE captain Esha Oza has also made progress in the rankings. She has risen to 39th among T20I batters and continues to remain just outside the top 20 in the all-rounders’ list. Her performances have further established her as one of the prominent players from an Associate Member team.
