Sony Pictures Networks India announces key leadership changes

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced pivotal leadership changes aimed at enhancing strategic growth and operational excellence. The reshuffle includes prominent appointments within the company, reflecting SPNI’s commitment to delivering exceptional content across its diverse channels.Nachiket Pantvaidya, a seasoned industry professional, will step into the role of Business Head for Sony Entertainment Television (SET). Pantvaidya, who is also continuing as General Manager at Sony Pictures International Productions (SPIP), brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at SPNI. His expertise is expected to drive innovation and bolster SET’s market presence.

Ajay Bhalwankar, previously the chief creative director for SET, will now lead Sony SAB as its Business Head. Bhalwankar’s successful tenure with Sony Marathi, where he significantly expanded the channel’s market share, positions him well to enhance Sony SAB’s content offerings and audience engagement.Tushar Shah, the Business Head of English, Bengali, and Infotainment Channels, will also oversee additional channels including Sony MAX and Sony MAX HD. Shah’s strategic leadership has already made substantial impacts on channels like Sony AATH, and his new responsibilities aim to further elevate SPNI’s content strategy and market presence.

In the Kolkata market, Shah’s expanded role is particularly noteworthy. His efforts in driving growth for Sony AATH in West Bengal have been instrumental, and his new oversight of Sony MAX channels is expected to strengthen SPNI’s foothold in the region, offering viewers a broader array of premium content.SPNI, now operating as Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited, continues to be a major player in India’s media landscape, with a portfolio of channels and platforms reaching over 700 million viewers across 167 countries.
