South Bengal rains will reduce a bit more, North Bengal still very heavy rain warning

Rains will reduce a little more in South Bengal. However, there is still a very heavy rain warning in North Bengal. This is what the Alipur Meteorological Department said on Monday morning. An orange warning of very heavy rain has been issued in the north. Five southern districts are on alert.

The Alipore Meteorological Department said light to moderate rain with thundershowers is likely over North 24 Parganas, East Burdwan, West Burdwan, Birbhum, and Murshidabad on Monday. A yellow alert has been issued in these districts. Heavy rain is likely from Tuesday. Purulia, East Burdwan, West Burdwan, Birbhum, and Murshidabad are likely to experience heavy rain on Tuesday. Heavy rain is likely over Purulia, Bankura, and West Burdwan on Wednesday as well. The weather office has predicted 7 to 11 cm of rain at scattered places in these districts.

Heavy rain will continue in North Bengal from Monday. Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, and Cooch Behar are likely to experience heavy rain on Monday. Very heavy rain is likely over Kalimpong, Alipurduar, and Jalpaiguri. A very heavy rain warning has been issued in these five districts on Tuesday. Heavy rain may continue till Thursday.

The low pressure over Jharkhand has brought rain in the last few days. Due to the low pressure area, the rainfall has reduced in South Bengal. However, Alipore has issued an additional warning for North Bengal. Rain can cause landslides. Damage can also occur in farming. The administration has been warned about it earlier. The minimum temperature in Kolkata on Monday was 26.9 degrees Celsius, which was 0.4 degrees above normal. The maximum temperature on Sunday was 31.6 degrees Celsius, 0.4 degrees below normal.
