SP Bomken Basar’s leadership earns Best Preventive Policing award

Superintendent of Police (SP) Bomken Basar of Kurung Kumey district, located near the Indo-China border, has been awarded the prestigious ‘Best Preventive Policing’ award by the State Election Commission of Arunachal Pradesh. The honor, conferred through the Chief Electoral Officer, recognizes SP Basar’s exceptional efforts in maintaining law and order during the 2024 electoral process. SP Basar’s proactive leadership and dedication ensured seamless and peaceful elections in one of Arunachal Pradesh’s most remote and challenging districts. Known for its rugged terrain and logistical difficulties, Kurung Kumey posed significant hurdles, but SP Basar’s strategic approach and coordination with polling officials ensured the smooth execution of the democratic exercise.

The State Election Commission praised SP Basar for his commitment to upholding democratic principles and fostering harmony throughout the electoral process. “His unwavering dedication to maintaining peace and order has set a benchmark for policing in Arunachal Pradesh,” the commission noted. Local MLA Basar Nyabi Jini Dirchi extended heartfelt congratulations to SP Basar, describing the award as a testament to his exemplary service. “This achievement is a proud moment for the district and an inspiration for law enforcement across the state,” Dirchi said.

SP Basar emphasized the importance of collaboration between police and election officials in ensuring the integrity of the democratic process.
