In Karimganj, Assam, a school principal got arrested for sexually assaulting a minor girl, student of the school.
According to the reports, the principal named Asar Uddin called the girl in his room and tried to sexually assault her. Asar tried to threaten her to fail in all subject if she reveals the incident to anyone.
Later, the girl’s family lodged a FIR against the principal in Badarpur Police Station.
Police registered a case against him under Protection of Children from the Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and some other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and issued an arrest warrant. However, Asar Uddin absconded after the incident.
Several social organizations staged protests against the incident and demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
