Recently during, Bangla Sahitya Sabha function in Guwahati Assamese ‘Gamosa’ was conjoined with Bangla Gamosa. Education Minister Ranoj Pegu and Cultural Affairs Minister Bimal Borah both were facilitate with the new conjoined gamosa which lead to controversy.
Taking offense by such use of Assam Gamosa there have been protest in the state and question CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, how two this cabinet ministers accepted it.
The Protest was done by All Dibrugarh District Students Union (ADDSU) in front of district office. Rupjyoti Borthakur advisor of the union said, any attempt to interweave or blend Assamese gamosa with other gamosa is disrespectful. He also said, Assamese gamosa has its own identity and cultural importance.
Along with ADDSU other parties like AASU, AJYCP, and AMSU have also staged protest against the alleged dishonour towards Assamses gamosa.
