Former Punjab Congress president Sunil Zakhar will join the BJP on Thursday, days after quitting his old party.
Jakhar quit the Congress last week after hitting out at former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Twitter, saying he was “not the asset” portrayed by the party leadership.
A former Lok Sabha member, Jakhar was removed from all party posts by the Congress disciplinary committee following allegations of anti-party activities against him by some leaders of the Punjab unit.
