Supreme Court said CBSE to conduct optional board exams between August 15 and September 15

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is planning to conduct optional board exams any time between August 15 and September 15, for students who are not satisfied with evaluation criteria.The board also said that results for Class 12 Board Examination 2021 will be declared by July 31.

Earlier today, the apex court adjourned the hearing on CBSE class 12 evaluation criteria till tomorrow.The court said that in justice it has agreed with the evaluation scheme but will hear the petitioners before giving any suggestion for any changes needed.

According to the board, the class 12 results will be decided on the basis of performance in Class 10 (30% weightage), Class 11 and Class 12 (40% weightage.Meanwhile, a section of students challenged CBSE, CISCE’s decision to cancel physical exams for Class 12 students.As the covid rate has come down Vikas Singh Sr Lawyer rising for the students argued for conducting the physical exams.

A vacation bench comprising Justices AM Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari has adjourned the hearing till tomorrow at 2 pm.The results will be decleared by July 31.
