Surge in coronavirus cases in Patna: Patna to Remain Under Lockdown From July 10 to 16, Essential Services Allowed.

Keeping in mind the rising cases of coronavirus, the Patna district administration on Wednesday decided to impose complete lockdown in the state capital from July 10 to 16 to break the chain of the deadly virus.

Except for the essential services, markets, offices and other commercial activities will be prohibited during the lockdown period in the state capital, the order said.

While 749 cases were reported from Bihar, Patna alone registered 235 Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, which is the highest one day record. Ravi in his order stated that there was an alarming surge in Covid-19 positive cases in Patna district in the last three weeks and the positivity rate had also been high.

Exceptions in central government and its autonomous bodies include defence, central armed police forces, treasury, public utilities (petroleum, CNG, LPG, PNG), disaster management, power generation and transmission units, post offices, National Informatics Centre and early warning agencies. Similarly exceptions in the offices of state/union territory and their autonomous bodies include police, home guards, civil defence, fire and emergency services, disaster management, elections and prisons. Similarly offices of district administration and those providing electricity, water and sanitation will remain open in the lockdown. In case of municipal bodies, only staff required for essential services will have to come.
Instruction has been given to call the minimum number of employees and other offices have been told to work from home.
There will be no hindrance in medical services, be it manufacturing or distribution in the private or public sector, or any hospital or clinic. Transportation of medical personnel is also allowed.
