In the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday in Jalandhar, former Congress MLA Sushil Rinku joined the Aam Aadmi Party.
Election day for the Jalandhar parliamentary seat is May 10, while election day for the counting is May 13. Santokh Singh Chaudhary, a Congressman who passed away in January at age 76, forced a byelection.
From the Jalandhar West seat in the previous legislature, Rinku represented the Congress party. During the 2022 state assembly elections, Sheetal Angural, an AAP candidate, defeated him.
