Swiggy has announced the rollout of ‘Guru’, a 24×7 AI Business Partner designed to help restaurant partners manage operations, analyse business performance and make data-driven decisions through a conversational interface. Available on Swiggy’s restaurant partner app, Guru will enable restaurant owners to review payouts, access tax reports and payout summaries, and start, monitor or modify advertising campaigns and discounts through chat prompts. The AI assistant will also provide funnel analysis of gross merchandise value (GMV) and orders, identifying performance gaps and offering recommendations.
Guru tracks sales, orders, average order value (AOV) and more than 30 other metrics over time. Its menu insights feature can help partners add items, generate descriptions and identify top-selling products based on category performance. The interface is available in more than 20 vernacular languages, including Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Assamese, Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam and Telugu. Swiggy Food Marketplace CEO RohitKapoor said AI integration into restaurant workflows was a natural step, given the operational demands faced by restaurant partners.
In Kolkata, the launch could give restaurants in the city easier access to real-time performance insights and campaign management, particularly benefiting neighbourhood eateries and multi-outlet businesses seeking to optimise digital sales and advertising. Guru is being launched across more than 720 cities and is expected to benefit over 2.7 lakh restaurants.
